In 1925, the invention of modern projection technology transformed how we experience the cosmos. To mark its 100th anniversary, the Planetarium Bochum and the Dresdner Sinfoniker initiated Sound of the Universe—a global concert spanning India, Germany, and Egypt. Dancing Peacock represented India in this landmark collaboration.
The project brought together Rajasthan’s Manganiyar musicians, the orchestral power of the Dresdner Sinfoniker, and astronomers from Bochum, Alexandria, and Jaipur. Drawing inspiration from pulsars, black holes, and celestial frequencies, the performance blended folk traditions, orchestral arrangements, and immersive visual storytelling.
Designed as a shared tribute to a century of innovation, Sound of the Universe connected three historically significant cultural sites through music and science. It stands as one of Dancing Peacock’s most unique international projects—honouring the cosmos through collaboration, technology, and the timeless language of sound.
