Singing Sands is one of Dancing Peacock’s flagship cultural projects — an annual heritage festival designed as a space for active participation, intimate encounters with Rajasthan’s living arts, and immersive music–craft–culinary experiences.
The most recent edition brought together 105 artists and artisans representing 28 communities from 4 cultural regions of Rajasthan, along with collaborators from 5 countries. Over two carefully curated days, the festival featured 15 musical and cultural experiences, ranging from devotional folk concerts and craft-led sessions to storytelling, interactive workshops, and courtyard gatherings.
Conceived as a festival where audiences engage as participants rather than spectators, Singing Sands encourages slow listening, thoughtful conversations, and the joy of discovering traditions directly from their practitioners. Its strength lies in the guests who arrive with curiosity and leave with new questions — about a song they heard, a block print they watched emerge, or a story that found new meaning in dialogue.
